Showing Appreciation to your Community
It’s Random Acts of Kindness week! We are sure to be kind every day, but this week, we’re highlighting ways you can show appreciation to your community.
Showing kindness to your neighbors and community helpers- like the mail delivery person, trash collector and your little ones teachers- is easy. A little appreciation goes a long way! We have a couple of different ways to spread joy that you can follow below- or come up with your own random acts of kindness!
Give a gift- and don’t just wait for the holidays!
Random Acts of Kindness can be at any time, and they can bring even more joy when they are completely unexpected. Here are a couple easy ideas for gifts for your community!
- Bake and package a sweet treat
- A gift card for gas or groceries
- A handmade card (bonus points if it includes adorable artwork by your little ones!)
Words are not for hurting- they are for kindness
Compliments and kind words are key! Say thank you to the grocery store clerk, tell your little one’s teacher one reason why you appreciate their hard work. Kids mimic your language when you’re not with them, and you can inspire them to use kind words with their maestras and amigos!

RAK is a non-profit with a goal of making kindness the norm! They have lots of free resources with kind ideas daily, including an Acts of Kindness calendar that keeps you inspired all year!

All week, we’ve been sharing adorable photos that give an inside look at our classrooms! You can watch an adorable classroom lesson and art project on kindness on our Youtube channel!
We all know the golden rule: treat others how you wish to be treated. It’s never too early to show this in action- the little ones in your life are always watching!
